Race Report - Tidewater 100 - Stephen

The race didn't start off to well. I had a 2 kick start and was next to last to the first turn luckily I snuck inside and passed several people then worked my way into third by the end of the first lap right behind the leaders. Halfway into the second lap I found my way into first place. Wally Palmer had followed me all the way and we started to separate from the rest of the field. The next lap we rode tire to tire. I got passed once but was able to get back out front and slowly pull out to a two minute lead at the checkers. It was a great race with a mix of tight and open trails with muddy spots that rutted up to make it a good tough race.

Race Report - Lake Sugar Tree XC - Stephen

On April 22nd, I raced at Lake Sugar Tree in Axton, Virginia. It was much drier than it has been in a while which meant there would be dust clouds, not two foot deep ruts. The day started off good. I got the holeshot but dropped back to second about a quarter of a mile in to the race. RJ Fergusen was riding very well and we pulled away from the rest of the AA's. We swapped the lead quite a few times on the very fast track. After my gas stop I figured I needed to kick it into another gear to try and pull away, but RJ hung right with me until 2 laps from the end. I got by a couple of lappers clean and floored it to eventually win by 50 seconds. It was a good race, nothing too hard, just good flowing trails that the Virgina Cross Country Series races are known for. Next is the National Enduro in MO.
