Somerset GNCC race report - Jordan

After mountain biking parts of the track the day before with my dad, I was feeling a little more confident at this race then I usually do at most GNCC's or national events. On the start I was second to the first corner behind Ryan Belue, go figure huh. I tried to hang with him down the straightaways and I was able to do. Once we hit the woods his front tire got stuck in front one of the huge rocks that littered the track, and I tried to make a move. But he got over the rock before I could get by him. Then I got stuck behind a few slower riders, allowing Ryan to get away, but on long straightaways I could still see him. Then I started to push a little harder and while going through a rock garden, I got caught in slower traffic and tried a tougher line and fell. When this happened I broke off a piece of my clutch perch. When I made it back to the pits, my dad fixed it and I was once again going. The next lap, in the same place my chain guide got broken off in the rocks. When I got it fixed, it still kept making my chain derail. When I got back to the pits my dad and Marc were out in the rock gardens finding good lines. So by the time I got it fixed I was already lapped, I fixed it enough to make it to the finish. All in all this race was fun, yet disappointing. But I have to thank my family, Marc Heim, KTM, and all the other sponsors who have stuck behind me and believe in me, I am determined to win one of these races before the year is done. I have been a lot of biking lately, which give my confidence in my endurance. So till next time see you all at the races!
